Strength & conditioning

Gymnastics Conditioning Exercises

Conditioning is where skills are earned. A few focused minutes at the end of every class — rotated so you’re not hammering the same muscles daily — builds the strength that unlocks the next level.

Core

Upper body

Legs & power

How to program it across the week

Don’t do everything every day. Rotate a focus — core on day one, upper body on day two, legs and power on day three — so muscles recover and effort stays high. Keep it short and intense rather than long and half-hearted, and scale reps by level rather than changing the exercises. KINETIC rotates a conditioning theme automatically inside each lesson so you never repeat the same circuit two classes running.

Frequently asked questions

How much conditioning should a gymnastics class include?

A focused 5–8 minutes at the end of most classes is plenty if the effort is high and the focus rotates through core, upper body and legs across the week.

What is the most important gymnastics conditioning exercise?

The hollow body hold — the shape shows up in nearly every skill, and owning it transfers to vault, bars, beam and floor.

How do I scale conditioning by level?

Keep the same exercises and adjust reps, hold times, and assistance (bands or elevation) rather than introducing entirely different movements.
